Following the success of two previous exhibitions, Alley Gallery will host it’s third major exhibition this month. Bloom True showcases the works of an eclectic group of female artists who spent an inspired weekend together in a horse stable. The ‘girls’ took a brave leap into the great unknown and signed up for a workshop with USA based artist Flora Bowley.

Her unique teaching methods combined yoga, meditation and positive affirmation exercises with various layers and techniques in acrylics.

Orgainsed by Tracy Verdugo, a local artist from Huskisson, the workshop was aimed at letting go, being bold and allowing your artistic intuition to bloom. The 18 artists who attended came from as far as Brisbane and Melbourne, combined with a good local contingent.

Their very different artistic backgrounds allowed for a fabulously diverse range of art works, all with a whimsical build up layers, sensuous colours and intricate patterns. The works were so successful that they decided to share the results.

The artists are Julie Sydenham, Robbie Collins, Jann Parkes, Nina Brathetland, Margaret Shaw, Tracy Verdugo, Gabe Hart, Judith Mansfield, Marilyn Raynsford, Christine Benavente, Julie Stapleton, Lanette Rose, Julie MacKenzie and Cathie Griffith.

The exhibition will continue until July 3rd.
